If you have PTCI internet or landline phone service, and live within PTCI’s cooperative territory, you may qualify to be a member of the PTCI Cooperative.
Unlike a traditional company, a cooperative isn’t all about profit. A cooperative is owned by many customer members. For example, to become a member owner of PTCI, subscribe to our internet service in the Oklahoma Panhandle and fill out a membership form. A cooperative’s goal is to serve the members, not an individual.
To ensure that PTCI is serving our members to the best of our ability, we adhere to the 7 Cooperative Principles:
1. Voluntary and Open Membership
2. Democratic Member Control
3. Member’s Economic Participation
4. Autonomy and Independence
5. Education, Training, and Information
6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives
7. Concern for Community
These principles help guide our cooperative so we may better serve our membership and community. There are many benefits to becoming a member of the cooperative including voting rights at district and annual meetings and invitations to membership meetings. PTCI members also earn capital credits, which represent each member’s ownership of the cooperative. They are money that is allocated to the members of the cooperative based on their purchase of services from the cooperative in the past.
