With PTCI switching to our own brand-new core for cellular service, a SIM card swap in your cell phone is required. Without this swap, your voice service will stop working.
SIM card swap
To remove the old SIM card on your iPhone you will need to locate the location of the tray first. You are looking for a small hole about the size of a paper clip tip. On any iPhone 12 model, the tray is located on the left side in the middle to lower half of the phone. For any iPhone 11, X, SE, or 8 models, it is located on the right side in the middle to the bottom half.
To pop open the SIM tray, insert a paper clip or a SIM-eject tool into the hole beside the tray (this is a small tool that came with your iPhone). Push in, towards the iPhone, but don’t force it. If you’re having difficulty ejecting the SIM tray, bring your device to your local PTCI store for help.1
After you remove your SIM card from the tray, notice the notch in one corner of the new SIM card. Place the new SIM card into the tray—it will fit only one way, because of the notch. Then insert the tray into the device completely and in the same orientation that you removed it. The tray also fits only one way.
If you have an Android phone, you will not be able to do the SIM card swap on your own. Your phone will have to be brought into one of our Oklahoma stores to be backed up before the SIM swap is made.
